In the Bible But not in the Quran (57): King David in Paran (mecca)
The priests wanted to dishonor King David because he dwelled in Arabia, in the tents of Kedar, the son of Ishmael wherein there is the house of the Lord's glory (in Mecca) which is Kadesh; also they hated him because he made Prophecies about the Quran and Muhammad.
In this article, we will see the biblical location of Paran and how confusing it is. However, Paran is one of the old names of Mecca.
On the other hand, although the Bible dishonors King David, the Noble Quran honors him very much; anyone who says that King David was sinful will dwell in the Eternal Fire.

Where is Paran?
Before answering this question, it is very interesting to find out that some of the versions of the Bible deleted Paran and replaced it with another place.
1 Samuel 25:1
Now Samuel died, and all Israel assembled and mourned for him; and they buried him at his home in Ramah.
Samuel died. The whole country came to his funeral. Everyone grieved over his death, and he was buried in his hometown of Ramah.
David then went down to the Wilderness of Paran
The last phrase that David then went down to the Wilderness of Paran is found in these versions of the Bible:
New American Standard Bible
King James Version
English Standard Version
Darby Translation
Contemporary English Version
Amplified Bible
Holman Christian Standard Bible
However, Paran is deleted and replaced by Maon in these versions of the Bible:
New International Version
Then David moved down into the Desert of Maon.
The Message
Meanwhile, David moved again, this time to the wilderness of Maon.
New International Version - UK
Then David moved down into the Desert of Maon.
In the Hebrew and the Arabic versions of the Bible, it is Paran not Maon.
The thing is, Paran may be deleted by time and we could not find it anymore in the new reprinted versions of the Bible.
I will leave the smart reader to answer this question: Have they intentionally deleted Paran and replaced it by Maon?
=========
Now, where is Paran?
The Biblical maps locate Paran at the south of Judah
What is Suph?
Suph is Hebrew name of the Red Sea.
Now look at this verse and do your best to locate Paran!
The verse says that the Jordan River is opposite (in front of) the Red Sea (Suph) between Paran and Tophel
Tophel – if it is a place- is very hard to locate where it is; also it is mentioned once in the Bible, in this verse only!
The thing that is impossible from the Geographical point of view is that the Jordan River is NOT and can NOT and will NOT be opposite or in front of the Red Sea (Suph)
In the Footnotes of some Biblical versions, you may find this statement:
Suph, Paran, Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab: The exact location of these towns is not known.
The writers of such a statement depend on the ignorance of the reader and his carelessness to know the exact locations of the important places in the Bible.
No wonder then that some versions of the Bible say that Suph which is the Hebrew name of the Red Sea is a town!
All of this effort is an attempt to hide Paran and make its location very confusing.
However, Paran one of the old Arabic names of Mecca regardless of the great effort done to delete and replace its name or to make its location very confusing!
Now look at this verse and do your best to locate Paran!
Deuteronomy 1:1
New International Version
These are the words Moses spoke to all Israel in the desert east of the Jordan—that is, in the Arabah—opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth and Dizahab.
The Message
These are the sermons Moses preached to all Israel when they were east of the Jordan River in the Arabah Wilderness, opposite Suph, in the vicinity of Paran, Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab.
New American Standard Bible
These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel across the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel and Laban and Hazeroth and Dizahab.
King James Version
These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.
Amplified Bible
THESE ARE the words which Moses spoke to all Israel [still] on the [east] side of the Jordan [River] in the wilderness, in the Arabah [the deep valley running north and south from the eastern arm of the Red Sea to beyond the Dead Sea], over near Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab.
Darby Translation
These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel on this side the Jordan, in the wilderness, in the plain, opposite to Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab.
Contemporary English Version
This book contains the speeches that Moses made while Israel was in the land of Moab, camped near the town of Suph in the desert east of the Jordan River. The town of Paran was in one direction from their camp, and the towns of Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab
Amplified Bible
1THESE ARE the words which Moses spoke to all Israel [still] on the [east] side of the Jordan [River] in the wilderness, in the Arabah [the deep valley running north and south from the eastern arm of the Red Sea to beyond the Dead Sea], over near Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab.
New International Version - UK
These are the words Moses spoke to all Israel in the desert east of the Jordan— that is, in the Arabah— opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth and Dizahab.
Holman Christian Standard Bible
These are the words Moses spoke to all Israel across the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Di-zahab.

What makes the King James Version of the Bible so special?
It seems as if so many people in my church have this philosophy that the King James Bible is the only Bible that contains the truth, and the New International Version is a pack of lies. What makes the KJV version so much better than the others? The NIV was translated from the KJV, but the KJV was translated from somewhere too, right?
Well - first, the belief that the King James Version (KJV) is the best bible is a religious belief. By that I mean: it is faith-based, not fact-based. I will not address it further here, but I *will* offer some facts below.
Second, and more important from my point of view, is your understanding of how bibles are translated. Nearly all English bibles - including the New International Version (NIV) and the KJV, are translated from original language documents. By that, I mean that they are translated from documents that are in the same language that the original authors used. SO - most bibles are not really translated from what we should call earlier bibles. Instead, they are translated from Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek documents that are copies of the original documents in the same language as the original documents (hopefully very accurate copies).
SO - the NIV in fact is NOT translated from the KJV (which is an English translation of Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek), but instead is itself a translation of Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek into English.
The issue is slightly more complicated than that, but you should know that at a basic level nearly all bibles are *not* translations of translations or modifications of earlier translations. At their most basic level, nearly all bibles are translations from the original languages - only one step, from a copy of the original author's writing in the language that he used to English.
Now - what's so special about the KJV? The most significant thing about the KJV is that for roughly 200 years it was the *only* Protestant English bible in print, and for over 300 years it was the most popular English bible in print.
Imagine **200 years** worth of Christians who believed that the bible meant only one thing: the King James Version. For **200 years** those people did not understand that "the bible" could be anything *other* than the KJV.
Now - when some fancy new revision such as the Revised Version comes along (in 1895), what do you think all of those Protestant Christians - who have been using *nothing* other than the KJV for the previous 245 years - are going to think? They're going to think that someone - at the instigation of The Devil - altered the very word of God. Why? Because the KJV is the only thing that they have ever known to be the word of God, or ever considered to be the word of God. And this is not only true of the Protestants alive in 1895, but also of their parents, and their grandparents, and their great-grandparents, etc. etc. etc.
More: most of their beliefs (if they are bible-based Christians) are based on the KJV and only the KJV. What happens to that teaching that your sect has taught for the last 250 years when some new bible uses different wording in the particular verse on which that teaching was based? The new bible version seems to go against what you (and your parents and grandparents) have been taught about Christianity for all of their lives and all of the lives of all of their ancestors they have ever known.
Is it any wonder that people *still* think that other translations are "from The Devil"?
But the reason they think that is because the new bibles go against what they believe! Understand what has happened: these people have used a particular bible to form their belief system. That belief system is *set*. So now any bible that does not support the same belief system in every detail must be "false" - because surely every last sniggling thing that they believe must be "true".
I think now you can understand why people still believe "KJV-only". I suspect that this will be the case until the KJV becomes literally unreadable - that is, for several centuries to come.

P.S. The King James Version is *not* the "first comprehensive English bible". It is, in fact, the *8th*, and the 2nd to be translated primarily from the original language documents.
