Faking your way through the Super Bowl

If you're like me, this Sunday to attend a Super Bowl party in which they face two options:

1) Pay attention to other America's favorite past-time, pie-ball (the first is to go shopping!), Chat with the guys about all the home runs they are throwing, and pulling that old hogskin around the backyard.

2) View ads with all the other "foot" ball of neophytes, it is equally ridiculous. The ads are entertainment? What? Maybe then we can go to a museum and look at the Sunday sales circulars!

So in recent years, I opted for a third option: to gorge myself like a fool - was not that "tight!" - Since the headphones and do my best to ignore both the procedure as possible. (I spent 1997 Super Bowl Party in the bathroom after my discman batteries died - thanks to God for the iPod!) As a result, I have become very skilled at forging my way through the Super Bowl on Sunday with a special playlist and sports factoids little known.

Before the game

The Pixies, "Here Comes Your Man"

The first thing to know about the Super Bowl: who's bringing the burgers? LOL. Seriously, you need to know who is playing the game. This year is the New England Patriots have never lost a game since football was invented, and New York Giants who have the most handsome brother of Manning (see I know some things!). And in honor of the patriots we have the Boston band The Pixies doing "Here Comes Your Man". I have a dance planned for it. Do Patriots need a cheerleader extra? LOL.

Art Garfunkel, "Crying in the Rain"

But you can not be too one-sided! You never know what team uniforms will like you more, so he can not play your favorite games. So in honor of that famous city of New York tenacity and determination, we must choose Art Garfunkel, which has no-holds-barred collaboration with James Taylor on "Crying in the Rain" really expresses what football is about: to be man enough to mourn in the rain. Or contact low score. The two are somewhat the same.

At this point the guy from Ace Hardware commercials is probably done blabbing so it's time for the national anthem. Boooo-ring! Seriously, if you're not Whitney Houston in 1991, why try? I've always loved "God Bless the USA" much more, from what I hear instead. Holla!

Well, I am! This is only a "foot" of balls listed in the title, but I am so tired of hearing all discussed during the game: "Who has the best starting five is the Yankees or Celtics or 59rs or blah blah blah blah." Who cares! And so this song, so awesome and sweet and just soooo California, is my own beautiful little protest. Also "God" means day. Did you know? It's Spanish!

American Football, "I'll See You When We're Both not so emotional

Football is a group of star QB-turned-actor Joe Mantegna after poor night vision forced a premature exit from the game. Bummer! He did not do it alone, however, that galloping bass you hear? That is legendary pelicans, running Terry Bradshaw. Who is driving that ax powerful? Nothing less than Peyton Manning (and let's put extra emphasis on "man"). And he used to bang the pigskin, but now strikes drumskins: Let to quit on Vince Lobotomy!

Halftime IS GameTime

Kutiman, "Music is ruling my life "

Yes! As impressive movie Drumline says: "halftime gametime IS", and so it's time to hear the greatest weapon of all: "Music is ruling my life," which sounds a bit like Amy Wine-O (LOL) is only one friend of Israel and Israel and chicken are awesome. Seriously, this is the best song ever! It's the Super Bowl of music! Oh, and factoid alert! One of my rappers favorite ever used to be a player "foot" ball that is, of course I'm talking about Deion Sanders. So obvious!

Black Heart Procession, "You Got Lucky"

While Tom (NOT VERY) P (R) Etty distance is singing about "oppression" or " radio "or" free fall "on an enormous stage, you can be enjoying a little step I like to call" the stage of transcendence. "Corazones San Diego somber Black (not to be confused with last year's Super Bowl winners of the same name), treatment of the right song, pushing it into the "big wide open "like a pair of" refugee "s" running down a dream. "I guess you could say that all" got lucky "with this one!

SECOND HALF

Pavement, "Major League"

Taken from what most people consider as their best album Stevie Malkmus & Co is moving tribute to Major League Soccer. But wait! Why Stevie sounds so sad? Perhaps because it's hot and not know each other - yet! Really, though, Steve is a great sports fan - to realsies - and so which is where I'll be big competition for next year. I have plastic-tipped cigars, Mr. pavement. Do you kiss?

The The Walkmen "The Rat"

This song has become a little sport, which is awesome! Maybe I like sports, after all! Always use this when they transition to commercial, and is totally cool because it's a song so little pump-it-up. I can not even child about this!

I think this is the part of the game where the horses have left the country? Or was that before? Did I miss that !?!?!

After CELEBRATING party

The Decemberists, "The Sporting Life"

Oh indie rockers! So cute when you suck at sports. This song by Colin Meloy - I've heard that has an average of four squares! - It's for all of you. And if my instinct is correct, Ronald both Moss and Michael Vick! "The Sporting Life" is about a boy who plays "foot-ball in high school and that is terrible and gets all sad. Do not cry child athlete nice! By the way, does anyone else remember how beautiful James Vanderbeek was in Varsity Blues? He put me in that game, coach! Hahaha. Enjoy the Super Bowl around the world!

(Editor Note: For the millions of us watch football, enjoy the game, here is our prediction: nor the defense will greatly help (the Giants have more pressure than expected, however), and the game will be to Brady, Eli Manning, not against, but Ahmad Bradshaw, who should give the Patriots LBS fit - if Coughlin gives the ball that is. Ultimately however, the Pats make history: New England 38, New York 27. Take that to your nearest financial institution!)
