Red tail boa acting aggressive?
Alright so a few weeks ago, a purchased a healthy, "tame" Red tail boa constrictor. I let it settle in it's cage for a week, and it had been eating great. Things were going great, it was extremely calm, and handled very easy. However, two days ago I had took his water bowl out to clean it, and he had got out, and was on my bed. I come back into my room, and he was freaking out, literally. He was hissing and striking like no other. Everywhere I moved, he moved. I managed to throw towels over him, and get him into my large laundry hamper.
Why did he act like that? He's not in a shed, and he ate about 5 days ago. He is five feet long. So he can deliver a nasty bite.

Anyhow, why was he acting so aggressive?
Please help.

I had an 8' red tail, and he was actually meaner than week old cat piss when I got him, but after time, he settled. My father got upset with all of the space and money my pets were taking (a decent collection of monitors and boids), so I had to get rid of them all.
I also had a Texas Rat Snake that was territorially aggressive. Anytime I moved to get him out of his cage, or anytime he was on my bed or dresser on his own (sometimes I'd let him explore my room for exercise), he'd be aggressive upon approach, much like yours. This was just a quirk for him that he always had. While the territorial aggression is common in some snakes, the aggression when in an unfamiliar place I can only imagine to be either that of unease, or suprise. Perhaps you came up on your boa too suddenly? While some snakes are unaffected, one of the "general rules of how to not get bit" is to move slowly around your snake, and never approach it head on.
That is just one explanation. My red tail boa, in the last month or two before my dad flipped, had become nippy as well. I was so puzzled, and he got me a few times. It was so wild, once I only moved my elbow forward when he was on me and he struck out at it.
He never, ever bit me though with the intent of eating me. These were only defensive strikes, nips, whatever you want to call it, so on the one time he managed to get his teeth in me, he quickly released on his own. I imagine that as long as they're not trying to bite you with everything they got, it'll end up looking worse than it feels 
Anyway. Bottom line. I asked my vet what was with the sudden aggression, and he said it's mating season. For some reason, the males can become aggressive. Just be patient and ride this out. He's not a bad snake for it, and he'll be your tame boy once again when it's all over. Keep feeding him out of his cage, keep handling him in a calm environment (perhaps with some gentle control over the head), and you'll be fine
