The Mount of Beatitudes
The Mount of the Beatitudes (also known as Hermitage Monte) is a large hill in northern Israel (also known as the Holy Land). There is said to be the place where Jesus gave his most famous teaching, the Sermon on the Mount. It is also believed that Jesus chose twelve disciples on this site.
The Mount of Beatitudes is on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee, between the towns of Capernaum and Galilee, about 100 kilometers Jerusalem.
The site (which has been celebrated as the place where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount of more than 1600 years) is the name of a section of the sermon, as recounted in the Gospel of Matthew (and part of the Gospel of Luke and the Dead Sea Scrolls). In this section, known as the Beatitudes, Christ describes the merits of living in the kingdom of the heavens and the ways in which each group is, or shall be blessed. No specific persons are mentioned, but the Beatitudes indicate the specific characteristics required to enter the eternal Kingdom of Heaven.
The characteristics that each group will enter heaven are not features that generally are considered blessed. The theologians have suggested that the meaning of this is that they are generally not considered blessed on Earth will be in the kingdom of heaven. It is generally considered eight beatitudes.
The Beatitudes (according to the Gospel of Matthew) read as follows:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn,
they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek
for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful
they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers
they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted because of justice
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. "
Gospel of St. Matthew 5:3-10
Today is a Byzantine church on Mount the Beatitudes. The church was erected in 1938 by the Franciscan Sisters Catholic and was funded in part by the infamous Italian leader Mussolini. The chapel was designed by a famous architect of the time, Antonio Barluzzi.
The church is octagonal in design. Each side represents one of the eight beatitudes. Before of the chapel, six sizes in the pavement represent justice, prudence, fortitude, charity, Faith and Temperance.
Inside the chapel, visitors can see the mantle of Pope Paul VI, which hangs on one wall and presented to the church on an official visit of the Pope in 1964.
About the Author
The Christian jewelry and christening spoon company, Beatitudes Cross uses sand collected from the Mount of Beatitudes in each of its Christian jewelry and rosary necklace products. The sand is encapsulated within a glass cross along with water from the River Jordan, where Christ was baptised by John the Baptist.

I think most of us would love to see a cross on a church tower, a necklace, or the Bible, but what about the Cross?
is supposed we take as Christians? How Do you think that the Cross for you? Matthew 16:24 "Then Jesus told his disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. "Galatians 6:14" But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom the world has been crucified to me, and I unto the world. "Anjel, the sister who share your opinion, but unfortunately for those who has not excepted He is still on the cross.
I think too many Christians who live on the wrong side of the cross. Its aim is only to reach the cross. My goal is Tume to open, but we have to go through the cross to get there. This is where I'm still a little confused. Are we still trying to put the flesh to death, we will rebuild or already dead?
