FIFTEEN FACTS ABOUT RUDRAKSHA
Rudraksha is a large evergreen broad-leaved tree whose seed is traditionally used for prayer beads in Hinduism. The seed is borne by several species of Elaeocarpus, with E. ganitrus being the principal species used in the making of a bead chain or mala. Rudraksha is a Sanskrit compound consisting of the name Rudra and aksha. The specific epithet ganitrus is possibly taken from ganitri, the name for this species in Sundanese and Malay.
The power and effects of the Tears of Lord Siva have always been a solution to the pain and suffering the Mankind and Womankind may experience during uncertain times in their life. Wearing the Sacred Rudraksha Beads brings one to a state of present moment living that most all Spiritual Teachings support. Wearing specific Mukhi Rudraksh or Rudraksa with a specific number of faces or lines as single beads or in recommended combinations create different positive changes in the wearers life.
The best way to choose rudraksha is by reading the properties of the beads and selecting the ones that closely match with what you desire. Our ancients puranas specify properties of the beads only with regards to the different gods and goddess that reside in each specific bead and do not mention any relation whatsoever with their astrological properties. Rudraksha can be chosen by Purpose, Therapy or by Rashi. One bead or multiple beads of different mukhi may be combined together.
The facts goes as follows:

14. The typical price range at which original Rudraksha beads can be found from $100 to $50,000.
15. man who is abandoned or who is engaged in impious acts or who is full of all sins, becomes free from all sins by wearing a Rudraksa (on his body).
Meaning here is that it is simply necessary to wear the Rudraksha on the body no matter what your starting point and you will change to a better person ........... Holy Books states it doesnt matter what clothes you wear or how you lead your life at the present moment ....... Holy Book states wear the Holy Rudraksha and watch the positive change.
16.If rudraksha are worn during bath , then it is recommended to keep them away from Soap , as it penetrates the bead pores and makes them dehydrated . Regular washing with water is good for the beads . If not worn during bath , the beads may be washed in normal clean water , during prayers .

108 mala/prayers for a Buddhist?
I'm a little new to Buddhism, and I feel I'm ready for the next step, which, for me, is memorizing the 108 prayers. But I have so many questions! And because I live in America, it's not like I can walk down the street to a Buddhist temple, haha.
1. Are there more than one set of 108 prayers?
2. Which one should I do, as a beginner?
3. Should I memorize the english or the real translation, or both?
4. When do I repeat them?
and finally, 5, where do I find them? Is there a website I can see them for free? I have been looking everywhere online, and all I can find are cd's to buy or meditation music, or the beads themselves. Help!
